VOTE MARGOT
Margot has a deep understanding of county operations, finance, and intergovernmental relationships, making her the ideal District 1 candidate to make meaningful improvements. As a member of Treasury that reports directly to the CFO of Multnomah County, she has led countless projects experiencing first-hand the barriers and inefficiencies of county operations. She understands what is not working and has a plan to change it. Margot will bring greater accountability to county operations by reducing program underspend, increasing transparency of spending, and evaluating contract terms with providers.
Margot is a problem-solver with a deep commitment to doing the right thing. As a native Oregonian, she is ready to advocate for the critical changes needed to repair our struggling community.
Born and raised in Oregon, I have a deep connection with my community here in Portland. I am saddened by the current state of Multnomah County and I have the skills and motivation to implement change. My experience working for the County gives me the necessary insight to provide realistic solutions with measurable results.
I will focus on three key areas:
County Operations
Prioritize funding for in-patient mental health and substance abuse treatment
Accelerate contracting timelines and payments with service providers
Implement Auditor recommendations and monitor progress
Monitor performance and enforce terms of contracts with providers and government agencies
Prioritize fraud detection and prevention
Spend Transparency
Evaluate gaps in reporting capabilities
Implement reporting requirements for programs and service providers
Institute regular reporting of all dollars spent to ensure financial accountability
Tie performance metrics to community impact
Program Underperformance
Reduce overcollection of taxes
Identify and eliminate redundancies across departments and programs
Ensure effective resource allocation by creating and analyzing key performance metrics
